Objectives

  • Generate employment opportunities for youth
  • Promote new MSMEs and self-employment
  • Encourage local manufacturing and service businesses
  • Boost regional economic growth through entrepreneurship

Eligible Activities

  • New units in Manufacturing sector
  • New units in Service sector
  • Agro-based and rural industries
  • Not eligible: Existing units or projects that already received subsidy under other schemes.

Eligibility Criteria

Age: Minimum 18 years

Education:

  • Up to ₹25 lakh project: 8th standard pass
  • Above ₹25 lakh project: 10th standard pass

Residency: Must be a domicile of Maharashtra

Family Rule: Only one person per family (self and spouse) can apply.

What is CMEGP?
Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme is a Maharashtra government scheme to promote self-employment by providing subsidy and credit-linked assistance for new micro and small enterprises.
Who can apply?
Unemployed youth (18+), domicile of Maharashtra, with minimum education of 8th/10th as per project cost. Special categories include SC/ST/Women/OBC/Minorities/Ex-servicemen/Differently-abled.
What is the maximum subsidy?
Up to ₹17.5 Lakh for Special Category Service units in rural areas. General Category Manufacturing in rural areas gets 25% (max ₹5 Lakh).
Can an existing unit apply?
No, only new units are eligible. Existing units or those who have availed subsidy under any other government scheme cannot apply.
How to apply online?
Applications are submitted through the official CMEGP portal. You can also visit your nearest DIC for assistance.
What is the family rule?
Only one person per family (self and spouse) can benefit from the scheme to ensure wider coverage.
